For gory, disgusting, absurd fun…

Rent Pumpkinhead: Blood Feud.  So far a man has gotten his head torn off (see below), another cut off his leg (in full detail), and another got his head caught in a bear trap leading to an explosion of brains and blood.  It takes a lot to phase me but this movie is definitely one of the grossest I’ve peeped in a while. 

It almost makes up for the fact that it was filmed in Romania with native actors.  They were forced to dub over three quarters of the voices to make them sound American leading to poorly synchronized, unauthentic hilarity.  If you’re going to watch any Pumpkinhead, I’d suggest the original.  It was actually not too bad.

I’m also not sure what era it’s supposed to be set in.  Sometimes it looks like they’re in the Old West and then you see someone driving around in a 2000 Ford.  At a party at the start of the film it looked like they were in the Victorian era or something.  Oh man.  Enough about that.

I haven’t actually finished it but I’m going to give it a 5/10 for the sheer spectacle feel of it.  I can’t imagine it getting any better or worse from now until half an hour later.
