My point was saying that because some people do things like eminem stated, doesnt mean every christian is like that. And that homesexual bit, I dont really think Blake is a homosexual. It was just to make a point saying that you cant assume things of people, i have no idea if he is or not so I couldnt have that conclusion.

Cage is from Middletown NY, but I think he lives in NYC these days. Maybe not, but thats really where his rap career and his record label are based. Don’t forget to check out his tour in support of this album.

Eminem makes a valid point– some Christians are hypocritical. But its a generalization and does NOT reflect Christianity accurately. I’m a Christian and I as well as most of the Christians I know are really upset about those Christians who hold up “God hates gays” signs and express insensitivity about Hurricane Katrina, as well as many other things.
Also, Dannay’s point is about Jesus. And Jesus is Jesus regardless of other people.
Jesus said: “But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” (Matt.15:18) and again, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. From within, out of the heart of man…”(Mark 7:20)
Think about this song, that comes from the artist’s mouth and heart. Does it put rape and murder in an “artistic” light, and take it out of the context it should be in, which is evil? Yes. That is what Dannay was trying to say, and that if the artist were to follow the teachings of Jesus, he would not be glorifying this subject matter. Cage is very talented, no doubt. But just because someone is talented or artistic does not mean that they are right, or responsible with the words or themes or images they present. These days we don’t much question whether or not we should be good story tellers about “disturbing, fucked up shit”, but Jesus would ask us to question that.
Why should we be “thrilled” by listening to or watching harm done to other people? Why are we attracted to disturbing things? How does this song/video effect other people? Does it put in a more morally neutral light than should be (or even encourage, for some guys who may be watching) stalking, raping, a certain view of women?
