I just returned from Tim’s with a donut, a glazed cinnamon roll (apparently they stop serving frosted rolls at 3 p.m. (wtf?)), and a hot chocolate.  I will now roll up the rim to win…

OMFG I WON A DONUT.  This hasn’t happened YET.  Thank God for good luck.

Man I’m happy.  Except I had to take those pictures with the family’s camera because mine still refuses to work.

Also, my dad just gave me the receipt for my camera.  I have to take it to some repair place in the south end of town.  FUCK.  Ah well.  At least it shouldn’t cost anything.

Today was nice.  Aura is dying of a cold so she stayed home and we talked like old times.  It was very relaxing.  Felt good.  Andddd now I’m decent.  I have to do this essay on outsourcing but after that I’m pretty much set for school.  I think it’s only supposed to be aboot two pages so it should be no sweat, really.

OUT.

I got bored and was trying to avoid the internet so I decided to drive.  That, combined with my lust for donuts, led me to Exeter.  Originally I going to go to Lucan but when I got there it just wasn’t far enough.

blahhhh

fasdfasf

So yeah, I drove 47.4 km (according to Google maps) there, got my boston cream, had a hot chocolate and a cigarette, and went back home.  I stopped and got directions for a different route back in first, though.  I think that people in small towns really are friendlier.  BOTH cashiers I dealt with were very cordial.

I got a couple of pictures on the way there, before it got dark.

So now…  I’m home.  I’m going to have to do that way more often.  Especially in the spring when I can put the window down and not freeze my ass off.

Easy

Oh yeah, when I got home, much to my dismay, I was locked out of my home.  I had to call around and finally found out that my parents were eating at some restaurant so I went and picked up their house key.  I don’t usually forget my key.  I think it’s because I was in a rush to get out of here.  I was feeling impulsive.

Also, I want to drive further.  Way further.

Also, I just got a hundred percent on Santana’s Black Magic Woman on medium.  You get these really cool gold stars.  I’m proud.  Now I’m really out.

Checks it out.

I upgraded all the hattscrib blogs to the newest version.  No more XML attacks for us.

I also purchased this nifty game:

DSC00357

I’ve been rocking out.

Also, don’t you hate it when you try to drag a file into a certain directory but then the menu scrolls up or down for some reason and you end up sending the files to the wrong directory?  I certainly do.

Also, apparently I’m going out with Shauna on Saturday.  Or Friday.  Whenever this get-together is.  I haven’t received all the details yet.

Also, I have these two fucked up assignments to do by tomorrow evening.  An argument essay and a website.  I don’t wants to do either.  ARGH.

Yuhhh

So I went out last night to the bars.  T and I met Shauna at this one bar and she was completely hammered.  We left eventually and went to another bar because Shauna and her friend wanted to dance.  They ended up going on stage and dancing with a bunch of random guys so I got pissed off by the lack of focus on me and took T and left.  We went to another bar and played this hacky sack arcade game.  Shauna called us and convinced us to come back and it was alright from then on.

We were walking home and some dude got hit by a car.  It was pretty nuts.  Some car was trying to force its way out of a parking lot and he ended up running into some guy’s leg who was trying to walk by.  He started banging on the hood of the car and yelling, understandably pissed off.  The driver got out and told him to stfu and then drove off.

There was also a fight at Jack’s.  I was standing there having a beer when these bouncers pushed me out of the way and went and tackled some guys who were fighting.  They threw him out the back.  It was exciting.

Andddddd that’s aboot it.

Peace.

I GOT MY NEW PUTER

It’s a dual (duo?) core 3.0 Intel processor, 500 GB Seagate hdd, 3 gigs of 800 mhz ram, anddd a 512 MSI something or other video card.  I’m very very pleased.  Oh yeah, a 19″ monitor as well.  Here’s some pics:

I’ll upload a few more later.  It has its case on and it’s all nice looking and organized.  I’m currently downloading a whole bunch of Vista updates so I’m using my laptop instead.  Man, I’m so happy.  It wasn’t working when I first tried to put all the parts together and I was getting ridiculously frustrated.  I wanted to hit someone.  I finally realized that the memory wasn’t set right and that was the root of the problem.  I jammed it in and VOILA, it worked.

Some crazy driving today.  I was stopped at an intersection and I saw some dude’s trailer get SMASHED.  He turned left and some dude went straight through and missed the truck that was towing the trailer but hit the shit out of the trailer itself.  Pieces of snowmobile went flying everywhere and the front of the car was totalled.  They all got out though so I think they were okay.

Also I was impatient and inching forward at another intersection and I didn’t realise that the lady in front of me was towing a very low trailer with no brakelights on it (illegal, bitch!) so my tires bumped into it.  She waved me over and I stopped even though I knew there was no damage to either vehicle.  She was pissed, though.  I appeased her by giving her my license plate number and apologising.  She said something about how the truck belonged to a Hells Angel so she didn’t want any damage done to the trailer, otherwise he would be mad.  Then again a lot of people talk about being associated with the HA’s and most of them are full of shit.

I’m out bitches.

Okay

So I found this video about choice.  I saw it a while ago and I really liked it.  This guy Barry Schwartz wrote a book called the Paradox of Choice and he gave this lecture:  http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/93

I found it really interesting, but you may find it incredibly boring (as Elias did).  It pretty much inspired my last entry.

I think that I need to become more decisive though so I’mma just go buy that computer that I was first looking at.  I can’t wait for the speed.  This computer is so damn slow sometimes.  1500 dollars, though. :\  Ah well.  What good’s money if you can’t spend it, huh?

I wrote my C++ midterm today.  I got 14/15 on the multiple choice portion and I think I got about an eighty on the programming part.  It was hard as hell and two hours wasn’t nearly enough time imo.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave us a few extra marks to help boost our grades because generally if I find a test difficult, then a good portion of the class found it impossible.  I guess I have to wait and see what the class average was first though.

I’m out.  Peaceeeee

I HATE CHOICE.

I appreciate that we live in free country and that we can choose to do what we please (with certain limitations, of course) but sometimes it just gets me irked.  I’m trying to find a computer to buy and the fucking choices are ENDLESS.  Do I go and build one myself?  Do I go to a big box store?  Are the memory clockrates going to make a difference?  The power supply wattage?  Why is this cheaper here?  Is something missing that I’m not aware of?  It’s getting me so fucking vexed!

Every single brand should have THREE, count em: THREE, choices.  You either get a crappy computer, a decent computer, or a super duper computer.  And that’s it.  None of these hard drive sizes, memory sizes, video cards.  I hate having to research every piece of hardware that composes the computer.  The worst part is that I know that no matter what I buy, I’ll end up unsatisfied knowing that there’s something better out there.

FUCK.

Whattttttt

So what’s up, people?  It is fucking freezing today and I can’t wait for winter to depart and spring to arrive.  What’s going on this Sunday?  A bit of church?  No, I don’t think so.  More likely a bit of homework and random crap.  I downloaded Dark Star so I guess that I’ll watch that a little later.  I also peeped Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room last night.  It was pretty good.  Some people are such devious, greedy bastards.  Sort of depressing.

More people need to sign up for Flickr!  It’s cool because you can specify your contacts as either friends or family.  So if you want pictures that you want your family to see then you modify the picture like that.  Same goes with your friends.

Also, I’ve been using PicLens a lot lately (thanks Laurie).  It’s a blast:

I suggest that you check it out.

And if you DO sign up for Flickr just go to my profile, http://flickr.com/photos/thedalailama and click Add Contact or whatever it is.  I’m sure that you can figure it out.

K bye!

Or is that everything?  I can never remember.

So I made this video.  I have a whole second half but it refuses to encode properly so it’s unuploadable.

Part deux, chapter one:

In the second half I yell about people who drive in the left lane and also my boss who fired me.  That jerkoff.  So you’re not missing much.

Will write more l8er.  PEACE

Please stop snowing and raining ice water down upon us.  If you oblige then I promise that I won’t litter anymore.

I made this video today on the way to school.

Aura thinks that I’m ridiculous.

I tend to agree.

Also, I got 66% on my test today.  It was originally 64 but I checked after and it changed to 66, so maybe the teacher messed up a question and gave us extra marks; I don’t really know.  It’s cool though.  Still, 66 is pretty lame.  It was a fucked up test full of dumb questions.  I’m going to remember this for the next test in that class.  Study the most random shit he tells us, cause that’s what he’s going to test us on.

Okay, I’m out.  PEACE.

ROUGH

Today has been pissing me off.  I bought a memory card and case for my camera.  Here’s the case:

DSC00235

It’s uber sweet.  BUT I was in class and I put the memory card into my memory card reader.  Makes sense, right?  WRONG.  Apparently you need an adapter, which the memory card came with (I didn’t know what it was for).  So the card got stuck and I eventually jammed it in even worse.  I skipped class and came home to fish it out.  It took me an hour to do so before I finally got ‘er done.  I managed to slice my thumb open during the process which pissed me off even worse.

I want to sleep until tomorrow morning.

Speaking of mornings, it was crazy foggy this morning!

Peter’s Mini-Mart (which I pass on the way home from school):

 DSC00196

Good ol’ Pete.  I almost got hit by a car whilst trying to recover some candy that I had dropped on the road by that store about twelve years ago.  We had snuck out during lunch and ran to Peter’s Mini-Mart to buy some random goodies.  True story.

Here’s a denture clinic, across the street from Pete’s (no experiences with this place yet):

DSC00195

Here’s the uber sweet cityscape that I’ve tried to take a picture of before.  Once again the pictures turned out like shit because it was really cloudy and crappy today.  Five degrees my ass.

The truck got stuck trying to pull off from the side of the road.  I had to swerve and give ‘er till she finally took off.

Eighty or eight hundred kilometres an hour?  You’ll never know.

Speaking of my truck, to facilitate Aura’s truck fuck fantasies:

Pretty dirty where my feet rest.  I should clean that sometime.

Now that’s about it.  Peaceeee.

Oh yeah, I aced my programming assignment today.  We were doing constructors and manipulators.  Easy breezy.  Now really, peace.

Yooooo.

So yesterday was alright.  I ended up going to the casino and winning seventy dollars.  It was pretty sweet, except that I hit these three symbols and it looked like I should have won a lot more.  That’s the thing about gambling, once you win a couple hundred anything less is just dissatisfying.  It makes whatever you win like a lot less than it is.  I mean, seventy dollars for ten minutes of fun is a lot of money, right?  Except it doesn’t seem that way.

I’ve been playing around with my camera.  Lookie:

DSC00175

Man, so filthy.  My camera kicks ass, though.  So clear.  Here’s me looking whimsical.

DSC00176

You know you’re sad when you have to take pictures of yourself.  Man I’m funny looking rofl.  S’all good, though.

I spent ten minutes convincing my parents to drive my brother and his friends downtown last night.  I had a headache and felt like shit so I didn’t want to.  I go, “Can’t he just drive drunk like every other teenager?”  And my dad says, “Not in our vehicles!”  Hahahahaha.

They finally did it so I was relieved.  Ten minutes later the phone rings and I answer it.  It’s my fucking brother, he forgot his ID in his coat pocket and begged me to bring it to him.  So I ended up driving downtown after all that crap.  I guess I figured that I was working for the money that I got from the casino.  And now he owes me one so it’s cool, plus he woulda done the same for me.

I’ve been listening to this last.fm station for the past little while. It’s very relaxing so it’s coo’.

EDIT: Apparently I can do this, enjoy:

Now I’m out yo.  Peace.

Good night, world.

Yeah, I forgot to do that last night.

Hey, look!

Capture

I love the start of the month. Or end I guess. Except for the bank fees that usually drop me into overdraft. Those piss me off.

I guess you gotta pay to play, though.

Dudes, people need to take responsibility for their actions. I hate excuses. Am I the only one? It drives me nuts me people don’t do something and then they give some excuse. Even if it’s a good one it annoys me; if it’s a lame one then it pisses me right off.

So don’t make excuses. If you say that you’re going to do something, do it. If you’re not going to do it, don’t say you will. I’ve been guilty of this a couple times, I know. But for the most part I consider my promises before I make them. I decide whether or not I’ll actually be able to keep them before I agree to anything. It’s a good way to live.

PEACE.

P.S. Imeem kicks ass. Just listen to a song you like, then click the Auto-suggest box and it’ll bring you to a bunch of good music. Also, I added my flickr account to the blogroll. If you want to check out a bunch of random pictures, click there.

P.P.S. I noticed that Kate had some problems remembering to fill in her name. If you comment often (or ever), feel free to register for my site. Just log in and check the “Keep me logged in” box or whatever it’s called. Then you can just comment without filling in the same crap over and over. Peacee.

Yet here I am.

Fux.

P.S. I slipped on ice walking to my truck in the parking lot.  It hurt.

P.P.S.  I saw my grandma in the hospital and she’s doing good.  There were no complications from the surgery or anything and she should be out by the end of the week.  Except she was really surly and I’ve never in my life seen her like that.  It was weird.  She told the nurse, “Thanks…  For nothin’!”  My brother and dad were shocked.  Rofl.  Old people.

(I think)

Rey and I were discussing openness.  I respect people who are willing to share themselves completely and openly with anyone.  I hope to come to a point in my life eventually when I’m not ashamed of anything.  When I can stand up in front of a huge crowd, and have someone point out every single (seemingly) embarrassing part of my life and not feel the least bit embarrassed.

I wonder if it’ll happen.  Probably not.  Fug it.

Agggggh

<Britta> hey hatt
<hatt> yo
<hatt> i’ve been
<hatt> so depressed the past couple of days
<Britta> :( do you know why?
<hatt> i think it’s cause i took double my dosage one night by accident
<hatt> and it threw me out of whack
<hatt> hopefully i’ll even back out in the next couple days
<hatt> i don’t think the cold weather is helping either
<Britta> ahhh that would do it
<Britta> double dose of what, if you don’t mind me asking?
<hatt> celexa

Yeah, I’m hatt, obviously.  I just slept for two hours for no reason.  Just because I didn’t feel like facing anything, I wasn’t even tired.  I sure as shit hope that I feel better in the next couple of days cause it sucks being like this.  I don’t think that the ultra cold weather is helping either.  I guess that I’ll just finish watching Dark City and chill out for the rest of the night.  It’s a good movie.

I also watched High Plains Drifter.  It was pretty cool, I guess.  Clint Eastwood is a bit of a bastard in it, a lot less principled than in Unforgiven.  But I guess when you get to the end it makes sense.

You know what sucks about college?  The lack of positive reinforcement.  Most of the time you only get feedback when the teacher is telling you what you did wrong.  How whack is that?  There are a couple of exceptions, of course.  For instance, my teacher Mrs. Blay.

feedback

Is that so hard?  My other teacher, Deb, also writes comments on our written work that I really appreciate.  I remember gold stars, dancing elephants, and smiley faces as big as your thumb stuck on most of my work when I was a kid.  I loved those times.  It’s never too late for a pat on the back, even if you’re in post-secondary education.

So teachers, if you’re reading this (which I’m sure you aren’t), give a “Good job!” or a “Well done!” when they’re so deserved.  It’ll make the student happy and only take a few seconds of your time.

Or maybe I’m just an attention-craving, insecure pussy.  I’m not sure.

Peace.
