Nice, huh?  All I need is 10 more degrees and I’ll be happy.

I finished my C++ program.  It counts the characters in a text document and gives you the most frequently used character, and the least used character.  Very useful, huh?  It should be.  It caused me a lot of frustration.  Especially when I had and i instead of a 1.  I spent a half an hour trying to figure out why the array was going out of bounds.  That explained it.

Uhhh.  Yeah.  So I’m all done with midterms.  FOUR MORE WEEKS until school is over.  Damn that’s soon.  I can’t wait.  I wish I had some cheddar, though.  I’d like to go somewhere in the summer.  Ah well.  Maybe I’ll hitchhike.  I’m pretty big and scary-looking though.  I don’t think very many people will pick me up, although it has been known to happen.

I’ve been listening to these indie playlists that Laurie recommended.  You can get the torrents here if you’d like.  Some of the stuff is pretty good.  There’s like a thousand songs, though.  I burned four CD’s for driving around and that didn’t even get through one of the playlists.

I’m re-reading this book, "Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind" by Shunryu Suzuki.  It’s got some cool stuff in it.

     Tozan, the famous Zen master, said, "The blue mountain is the father of the white cloud.  The white cloud is the son of the blue mountain.  All day long they depend on each other, without being dependent on each other.  The white cloud is always the white cloud.  The blue mountain is always the blue mountain."  This is a pure, clear interpretation of life.  There may be many things like the white cloud and blue mountain: man and woman, teacher and disciple.  They depend on each other.  But the white cloud should not be bothered by the blue mountain.  The blue mountain should not be bothered by the white cloud.  They are quite independent, but yet dependent.  This how we live, and how we practice zazen.

… So we are completely dependent and independent.  If you have this kind of experience, this kind of existence, you have absolute independence; you will not be bothered by anything.

I brought my camera into the repair place a couple days ago.  Hopefully it’ll be fixed in about a week.  I miss taking pictures and making random videos.  And I know Rey misses it as well.  =p

Wednesdays suck azz.  I have to go to school from noon till five.  Actually it’s usually more like 4:30 but still.  I don’t like staying here that long.  At least I get a couple extra hours of sleep, although I still have to wake up to drive my dad to work at about 7:30.

I also had this history teacher when I was in grade eleven or twelve, Mrs. M-something.  I missed her midterm and she was so so mad.  I was sitting in English class and she came and got me and wanted to know why I wasn’t there.  I told her I had slept in.  She yelled at me and said that we’d been reminded about it several times.  I truly didn’t even know that there was a midterm, nor did I care.  I think that she thought that I had skipped it so that I could study more or something.  I told her that I just didn’t even remember that we had it.  She let me re-write it during lunch.  I didn’t give a shit about her stupid midterm but I feigned gratitude for the second chance and wrote it; I think I got a sixty or so.  I’m pretty sure that I failed the class later.

This other teacher, Mrs. Coutineau (sp?).  I remember walking into class with my pants really low.  In front of the whole class she goes, "Go out in the hall and pull up your pants!  Don’t walk in here like that!"  Hahahaha.  That woman.  She was such a crotchety old bible-thumper.

Looking back, I didn’t like most of my teachers.  I realise now that most of them were really trying hard to get me to do well.  They’d help me during lunches and stuff.  I don’t know why none of it worked.  Maybe I’m dumb.  I often think that I have ADD and that it was worse during elementary/high school.  I think that I’ve also been depressed since about the sixth grade which didn’t help anything.  I’d try doing math homework and I’d get so frustrated and angry that I’d throw my books across the room.  And that’s when I’d even take the time to sit down and attempt to do homework, which was a rare.

It got cold again today.  All the water froze and now it’s even icier than it was yesterday.  I almost slipped on the way to the car but I managed to regain my balance.  I went to Tim Horton’s and had the freshest donut in the history of the world.  I think that it was right out of the oven.  It melted in my mouth.  Crazy stuff.

I’m ALMOST done my C++ project.  I just need to learn how to use iterators to my advantage.  It’s dumb that we have to use them at all when a regular variable would suffice just fine.

It’s crazy.  It’ll run anything.  I tried installing Kubuntu yesterday.  It was successful except it wouldn’t recognise my PCI wireless card so I couldn’t get an internet connection.  I think that if I had an internet connection I could’ve gotten it working but I wasn’t about to lug the fifty pound case all the way downstairs for that.  I’ll stick with Vista for the time being.

So today…  Nothing.  I have to finish my C++ project but I’m just about done now.  I have to figure out how to use iterators though.  Google will help with that.

OH YEAH.  I’m quite the handyman.  For the first few days I’d been putting my keyboard on my lap.  I got mad sick of that though so I took my drawer:

Except it’s REALLY flimsy and there are staples sticking out.  It’s pretty hazardous but it gets the job done.  I really need to just buy a computer desk.  They’re only aboot a hundred dollars.  Maybe I’ll get one later.

Also, I checked my co-op placement website thing yesterday and it said that I was a candidate for an interview so I clicked “Interested” and today the interview disappeared!  I hope that it comes back.  It’s a job at my school doing something or other.

I’m going out Friday to hang out with Shauna.  We’re going to the bars once again.  I think it’s gonna be pretty fun except I have to hang out with some of her friends for at least a portion of the night and I really don’t like new people.

My computer kicks fucking ass.  I was playing CS: Source last night as well as F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate.  I need some new games that will really test out my graphics card though.  I think that I might get ahold of COD 4.  I’ve heard that it’s really cool.

I found it really interesting, but you may find it incredibly boring (as Elias did).  It pretty much inspired my last entry.

I think that I need to become more decisive though so I’mma just go buy that computer that I was first looking at.  I can’t wait for the speed.  This computer is so damn slow sometimes.  1500 dollars, though. :\  Ah well.  What good’s money if you can’t spend it, huh?

I wrote my C++ midterm today.  I got 14/15 on the multiple choice portion and I think I got about an eighty on the programming part.  It was hard as hell and two hours wasn’t nearly enough time imo.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave us a few extra marks to help boost our grades because generally if I find a test difficult, then a good portion of the class found it impossible.  I guess I have to wait and see what the class average was first though.

I’m having way too much fun with that Comic Life program.  I have another sweet Ghost Dog one to make except I need to do some homework first.  SHIT.  Also, I applied to some co-op positions today.  I certainly hope that they’ll take me cause I need money!  Imma pay off that Visa using my first paycheque if they give me a job.
