So with my newfound wealth I rushed out after my database midterm (which I eked out an 83 on) and bought a sound card and some speakers from Future Shop.  The speakers were like $83 off so I had to buy them.  Who could pass up that deal?

I’m ballin, hooooooo.  No more more buzzing on the mic or in the speakers.  I’m very satisfied.

I watched Things We Lost in the Fire with my new audio system.  It was pretty good.  A bit sappy but Benicio Del Toro is definitely one of the coolest actors out there.  Overall, 8/10. 

Some crazy shit just went down with my fonts.  I Googled for something and all of a sudden everything was in italics.  I checked Firefox and it was italicized too!  Same with IE.  Wtf.  Aurika sent me her copy of Arial.ttf but to no avail.  I searched around for an answer and found that you had to right click on the c:\windows\fonts folder, Install New Font and re-install the Arial font.  Very weird crap.  I don’t know how it got erased. 

So I just had some coffee and a cigarette and I’m chillin for ze night.

Also, don’t you hate it when you try to drag a file into a certain directory but then the menu scrolls up or down for some reason and you end up sending the files to the wrong directory?  I certainly do.

Also, apparently I’m going out with Shauna on Saturday.  Or Friday.  Whenever this get-together is.  I haven’t received all the details yet. 

Also, I have these two fucked up assignments to do by tomorrow evening.  An argument essay and a website.  I don’t wants to do either.  ARGH.

It’s crazy.  It’ll run anything.  I tried installing Kubuntu yesterday.  It was successful except it wouldn’t recognise my PCI wireless card so I couldn’t get an internet connection.  I think that if I had an internet connection I could’ve gotten it working but I wasn’t about to lug the fifty pound case all the way downstairs for that.  I’ll stick with Vista for the time being.

So today…  Nothing.  I have to finish my C++ project but I’m just about done now.  I have to figure out how to use iterators though.  Google will help with that.

OH YEAH.  I’m quite the handyman.  For the first few days I’d been putting my keyboard on my lap.  I got mad sick of that though so I took my drawer:

Except it’s REALLY flimsy and there are staples sticking out.  It’s pretty hazardous but it gets the job done.  I really need to just buy a computer desk.  They’re only aboot a hundred dollars.  Maybe I’ll get one later.

Also, I checked my co-op placement website thing yesterday and it said that I was a candidate for an interview so I clicked “Interested” and today the interview disappeared!  I hope that it comes back.  It’s a job at my school doing something or other.

I’m going out Friday to hang out with Shauna.  We’re going to the bars once again.  I think it’s gonna be pretty fun except I have to hang out with some of her friends for at least a portion of the night and I really don’t like new people.

My computer kicks fucking ass.  I was playing CS: Source last night as well as F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate.  I need some new games that will really test out my graphics card though.  I think that I might get ahold of COD 4.  I’ve heard that it’s really cool.

I’ll upload a few more later.  It has its case on and it’s all nice looking and organized.  I’m currently downloading a whole bunch of Vista updates so I’m using my laptop instead.  Man, I’m so happy.  It wasn’t working when I first tried to put all the parts together and I was getting ridiculously frustrated.  I wanted to hit someone.  I finally realized that the memory wasn’t set right and that was the root of the problem.  I jammed it in and VOILA, it worked.

Some crazy driving today.  I was stopped at an intersection and I saw some dude’s trailer get SMASHED.  He turned left and some dude went straight through and missed the truck that was towing the trailer but hit the shit out of the trailer itself.  Pieces of snowmobile went flying everywhere and the front of the car was totalled.  They all got out though so I think they were okay.

Also I was impatient and inching forward at another intersection and I didn’t realise that the lady in front of me was towing a very low trailer with no brakelights on it (illegal, bitch!) so my tires bumped into it.  She waved me over and I stopped even though I knew there was no damage to either vehicle.  She was pissed, though.  I appeased her by giving her my license plate number and apologising.  She said something about how the truck belonged to a Hells Angel so she didn’t want any damage done to the trailer, otherwise he would be mad.  Then again a lot of people talk about being associated with the HA’s and most of them are full of shit.
