Niagara Fallsssss

So I went to the Falls yesterday.  I left around 5 in the afternoon for the long journey there.

Somewhere on the 401 I guess.

Same thing, but I saw a Canadian flag and had to get a picture:

Coming into Hamilton.  There’s this hugeeeee hill that you drive on and your ears actually pop when you come down.  You can see pretty much the whole city:

This was the most gorgeous part of the drive.  Somewhere between Hamilton and Niagara Falls you go over this bridge that overlooks Lake Ontario and it’s amazing.  I wish I could’ve pulled over and gotten some better pictures but everyone was doing about 140 km/h and I didn’t want to get killed.

Here’s what I was looking at from the view of Google maps.  That’s the bridge going through the middle:

Finally I made it to Niagara Falls at around 7:45.  It’s a ridiculous city.  This is the main strip where all the lights are:

My first stop was the casino where I lost then won then lost again and had a beer along the way.  Overall I think I lost about $50.  I’m not too sure.  Here’s a picture.  The woman was eyeing me curiously:

On the way out you get this view of the Falls that’s pretty amazing.  They put all these lights behind them at night and turn them different colours.  Unfortunately it was dark and I was far away so all I could manage was this lack-luster photo:

I actually went down and checked out the falls up close that night but still couldn’t get a decent picture.  I also considered throwing myself over the barrier but decided against it.

Also here’s the big crazy sign for the casino:

I was pretty goddamned depressed after I lost so I decided to go have another couple of beers at Boston Pizza.  I didn’t get any pictures but it was a pretty snazzy joint.  This limo full of American girls pulled up and dropped off about twenty of them.  I was sitting at the bar drinking on my lonesome and three of them ended up talking to me.  I think the one girl from Syracuse had some interest in me but I was so lonely and depressed that I wasn’t any fun.  She left and said she’d be back but I wrote her off at that point.  I think she went off and found some energetic good looking guy to set her sights on instead.  Still, it was cool because she was really good looking.  She complained about how Canadians make long island iced teas, though.  There wasn’t enough rum in it for her taste.  The other American girl made fun of our Canadian currency calling it Monopoly money and made me laugh.

I was pretty buzzed after my three beers.  I guess I don’t drink often enough.  So I went and got some pizza and went back to my hotel.  In desperate need of some female company I went looking for a strip club but couldn’t find one.  It was really goddamned cold out too.  I finally located one in the phone book but I didn’t know exactly how far away it was and it was too chilly to attempt the journey so I passed out in my bed instead.

Here was my hotel room, btw.  My gorgeous view:

I woke up at about 9 in the morning with a massive headache and decided that I should head out.  I wanted to peep the falls up close first, though.  I made some coffee, had a shower, and got dressed, and then dropped my key off at the front desk.  Here’s one of the natural wonders of the world:

And you can see a pretty cool skyline from the falls.  It’s a strange place.  Everything is so compact and huge at the same time:

After that I took the long road home, finally making it back to my wonderful city:

And that, as they say, was that.

PEACE

Oh yeah. I uploaded a few new videos to my Youtube profile. Check em if you’re bored.

Motorcity Casino

I hit up Detroit tonight.  I left at around 8:30 for a 2 hour drive to the Motorcity.  I’m not sure why.  I guess that I was bored.  I had taken a clonazepam at around two in the afternoon and then slept until six so I had a bunch of energy (now long since gone).

My route:

Next time I’ll take the 401.  The 402 is really boring.

Here’s a few snapshots.

Just driving down the road.  I don’t know where exactly that is.

Same thing.

Some random gas station that I stopped at to have a cigarette.  I think it was closed.

The toll bridge to get in to the US?

DSC00434

That might have been around the time I got lonely and called up Aurashu.  We had a good convo.  She wants my babies, I can tell.

The American border guard was really nice and didn’t hassle me at all.  Just took my passport, asked what my business was and told me to have a good night.  Much ado about nothing it seems.

On the lonely road.

My first American convenience store!  The dude who worked there kept calling me "guy."

That’s where I picked up these babies:

P.S. Americans cigarettes taste like shit.

I made it to the casino!  A helluva lot more snazzy than any of the ones I’ve been to before.

DSC00441

So I went in and withdrew a hundred dollars from the ATM.  I then promptly lost it.  The blackjack tables had a $15 minimum!  What kind of bullshit is that?  In such a poor city you’d think that they’d have a $1 minimum table.  Or even 25 cents.  But no.  So I went and cashed $45 in chips, lost it in three hands, went and cashed $30 in chips, lost it in three hands (I won once then doubled the next time).  After that I had no reason to stick around so I made my way back out and to my car.

The bridge once again, this time going back to Canada.  The Canadian border guard was an asshole.  I liked the American one way better.

After that it was just two hours of driving until I got home.  I had a crazy ass snow storm to drive through though.  I passed three separate cars in the median ditch on the highway, two of them with police and ambulance surrounding them.  I almost lost control too because I didn’t realise how icy the roads were.  On the way back out of Detroit some woman in a Jeep spun out in front of me and I had to avoid smashing into her.  Crazy times.

I made like five different videos that I’ll upload later but they pretty much just recount everything that I wrote in this entry so they’re probably not worth watching.  They’ll be up on my Youtube channel by the end of tomorrow.  Okay.  Right now I must sleep.

Farewell.

Oh yes.  I need a new destination.  New York?  Possibly Montreal.  I’ve heard that it’s a beautiful city.  Only time will tell.
